Pumpkin patch

While we were in Livermore, we went to an awesome pumpkin patch and farm with my parents, Mike and Wendy and their twins. It was so much fun and will have to become a yearly tradition!

There was a huge corn pit...kind of like a big sand box but filled with popcorn kernels. The boys had a ball in it!

They also rode the cow train.

"Choo! Choo!" I mean, "Moo! Moo!"

Zoe's Baptism

Zoe was baptized on Oct. 24 at St. Michael's, the church where I was baptized and also married. We had a private baptism in the chapel with our families and close family friends. The dress that Zoe wore is 38 years old and was bought for my older sister Wendy by her Godmother, my late Aunt Betty. Wendy wore the dress, I wore the dress, my younger sister Leslie wore the dress, my mom's God daughter Shannon wore the dress and then Zoe wore the dress. It was in great shape and she looked beautiful in it. Maybe someday her daughter will wear it! Here are some shots from the day.

Zoe with her Godmother, Auntie Wendy.

It is traditional for the Godmother to dress the child for the baptism. Here Wendy is dressing a thrilled Zoe.

I love this picture of Travis and Zoe. It was taken at the party after the baptism.

I've taken Zoe's picture every month on this octopus chair we have to see how she has grown.

Gone fishing and horsing around

We took a trip up to Apple Hill today and for some reason, Travis had the itch to take Luke "fishing" in the pond that is stocked with a zillion fish. It was actually a lot of fun and they caught two pretty good sized fish. Then the people in the little shack where you rent the pole cleaned and gutted the fish for us and put them on ice for us to take home. Unfortunately, the fish didn't come filleted and skinned like it does in the grocery store. They just threw those bad boys into a plastic bag, heads, tails, fins and all, and I was supposed to figure out a way to cook them! Well, I've watched plenty of Food Network shows to feel confident enough to give it a try and believe it or not, they turned out delicious. I cut one up and pan fried it and I kept the other one whole, wrapped it in some foil with some lemon and salt and olive oil and baked it. The baked one was my favorite, only because the bones came out very easily and almost in one piece, like you see on cartoons when cats swallow a fish and then pull the fish skeleton out of their mouths. Anyway, after fishing, Luke stood in line for a very long time to ride the ponies which he said was his favorite part of the day, so I guess the wait was worth it. We also enjoyed looking at all of the crafts, eating apple donuts (YUM) and fudge, and just being outdoors in a beautiful place together. All in all, a great day!

Fish number two

Okay, I wore a hat all day and had just scratched my head a lot before this picture was taken, thus, the awesome hair.

It was REALLY slimy and slippery.

Off with its head!
