Funderland!

We went to a great place called Funderland.  It's a very small amusement park, just for kids Luke's age.  It's located right next to the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town, two of our other favorite places to visit. This was our first visit to Funderland but I am sure we will be back!
Luke and his two buddies, Emerson and Max in the teacups.
The mini log ride.
If you look real close, Luke is waving back to me.
The octopus fish ride.
Driving the cars was super fun!
I love this shot because all three boys are in the picture.
Zoe and I even took the cars for a spin.
The airplane ride was a BIG hit.  Luke loved pulling the lever to make the plane go up or down.
Zoe thought the airplanes were noisy.
Luke wanted to ride on this one, despite my worries that it would be too fast.  It was one of those rides that just goes in a circle forwards for a while and then it slows down and goes backwards for a while.  I took one look at it and felt like I was going to throw up.  But being the nice mom that I am, I encouraged Luke's bravery and willingness to try something new and I rode it with him.  (I couldn't talk any of the other kids to do it).  Luke loved it and I really wished Travis was with us so he could have gone on it, but I survived.
Lunch time.
The merry go round!
Wheeeeee!

Blueberry time!

This is a blueberry bush, covered with delicious blueberries, just waiting for some little hands to pick them and drop them in a big bucket or perhaps in to a little mouth.

We went to a farm in the Apple Hill area today to pick some blueberries.  You pay for what you pick, ($4.50 a pound!) but it was well worth the money.  The kids and I had a really great time and the blueberries are delicious.  We finished off the morning with a picnic lunch under these huge pine trees.  I think this will definitely become an annual event for us!

Fourth of July 2011

We had a great fourth of July.  The kids decorated their bikes and rode them in our neighborhood parade.  Then later we had our friends over for a BBQ and some swim time.  We finished the night off with some fireworks in the front yard.
