Merry Christmas!

Wild Animal Park

While in San Diego, we went to the Wild Animal Park, now called the Safari Park.  We saw a ton of awesome animals.  Luke's favorites were the cheetah and the falcon.  We even took the tram that drives you through the african savannah. We have a lot of pics of animals but I just included a few here.  I mostly included the ones with the kids.

They had a great bat exhibit.
This gorilla is holding her 6 month old baby boy.  I loved watching her.
That's the daddy gorilla in the background.
We fed the lorikeets.  They were noisy.
Luke got to eat cotton candy for the first time.
Paragrein falcon.  Very cool.

San Diego

Grandpa Langley celebrated his 70th birthday last weekend so we went down to San Diego to help him celebrate.  We had a pretty smooth trip (other than our rental car breaking down) and the kids did a great job with all of the traveling.  We took them to the Wild Animal Park (next post) and got to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa.
On the airplane before take off.
In the back of the cab after our car broke down.
Finally at grandma's house!
Decorating cookies with grandma.
Opening up some early Christmas presents!
Getting ready to fly home.
The best way to keep kids quiet on a plane.  Thank you iphone.

Polar Express

We were lucky enough this year to get tickets to the polar express train ride at the Railroad Museum in Sacramento.  The train recreates moments from the book and movie and was an awesome way to kick off the holiday season.  If you are unfamiliar with the story, a train called the Polar Express stops by a little boy's house on Christmas Eve and takes him to the North Pole where he meets Santa and gets one of the bells from Santa's sleigh.  He goes on this adventure in the middle of the night which is why the kids are in PJs.  Lots of kids (and adults) were in their PJs during the ride.  We all got Hot Cocoa and cookies and saw Santa and received our very own sleigh bells.  It was a great night.
Luke was a little apprehensive about the ride.
Zoe holds her ticket.
Cookies and cocoa!

Happy Thanksgiving

Children's Museum

I took the kids to a new Children's Museum when Luke was off of school for Thanksgiving week.  I didn't take pictures of every cool thing at this museum but here are a few highlights.  They have an awesome water area for water exploration as well as a super cool art area.  We will for sure be back!
