The Sacramento Zoo!

Luke was lucky to be invited to a birthday party at the Sacramento Zoo. We had never been to this zoo before, so the whole family enjoyed exploring a new place. Little did I know that we'd have a freak rain storm this morning so we were walking around the zoo in shorts and tee shirts without any umbrellas, jackets, or rain hats. (One of those moments when I felt like a horrible mom. I packed snacks, drinks, extra changes of clothes, purell, wipes, diapers, burp cloths, money, sunglasses, sunscreen, kleenex, pacifiers, chapstick, Tylenol, but noooo, I didn't pack an umbrella. What kind of mom am I?!?) Zoe stayed the driest of us all in her stroller. Despite the unexpected weather, we had a great morning checking out the giraffes, chimpanzees, zebras, lions, tigers, a jaguar, some birds, some lizards and frogs and snakes, and riding the merry-go-round. It was a great way to celebrate our friend's birthday! On the drive home, I asked Luke what his favorite animal was and he said, "the merry go round."
